Preventive Treatments Especially for Kids
Exams and cleanings are important for all ages. However, we also offer treatments that are primarily intended for kids. Fluoride supplements strengthen the enamel on your child’s developing teeth, preventing cavities. Fluoride is a mineral found naturally in many food sources. It is also added to most public water supplies. We can provide the extra fluoridation necessary to safeguard your child's teeth though varnishes, rinses, and gels.
Sealants are another important preventive treatment. Dr. Polidori will apply a liquid plastic to the tops of your child’s permanent molars. After the material hardens, it will form a virtually impermeable barrier. In this way, sealants will keep food and bacteria from collecting in the deep grooves, and they will greatly reduce the risk of decay for many years ahead.
