We've Got You Covered

The tooth will be reshaped to make room for the custom crown to be placed over and then secured with dental cement.
Crowns are often called "caps" because they completely cover your tooth from the gumline to the chewing surface. Under our dentists' care, you can expect that your custom crown will fit precisely, allow you to chew properly, and look indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

For a secure, durable dental option that blends in with your teeth, consider implant-supported crowns...

How Dental Implants and Dental Crowns Work Together to Restore Your Smile

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a type of ceramic or titanium screw secured in your jaw. With proper care, they can last your whole life long.

They can also support a variety of restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and dentures. Our dentists proudly places both implants and crowns at his Lakewood dental practice.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are coverings made of materials that mimic a natural tooth, such as porcelain. They may go over a damaged tooth or, if the tooth is missing or must be extracted, a dental implant. During the placement process, our dentists also offers temporary crowns, so that you do not have to live with a gap in your smile as your custom permanent crown is created.

How Our Dentist Replaces a Lost Tooth with an Implant-Supported Dental Crown

Traditionally, a dental bridge was the only available solution when it came to replacing a single lost tooth. However, with the advent of dental implants , you can now take advantage of a solution that doesn't require crowning healthy nearby teeth. Implants are also the one and only dental treatment that can prevent jawbone recession following the loss of a tooth. Here's how it works:
before dental implant placement
First, a dental implant is surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace the lost tooth root.
after placement of crown on implant
A porcelain dental crown is attached to the implant to finish replacing the tooth from the root to chewing surface.

Consultation

During your consultation with our dentists, they will determine the type of treatment your tooth requires and whether a crown or another type of restoration is the best way to complete your treatment. If the tooth cannot be saved, you and our dentists can explore other options, such as an implant-supported crown.

Treatment

Once any decay or structural damage has been resolved, Dr. Polodori will provide some further refinements to make the tooth able to accommodate the crown.

Impressions

Our dentists will take impressions of the tooth and any surrounding teeth.

Crafting Your Crown

Our dentists will send the impressions to an offsite lab. These will guide the technicians in crafting a crown from top-quality porcelain that achieves exactly the right fit and appearance. Our dentists will provide a temporary crown to protect your tooth in the meantime.

Placement

You will return to our practice in about two weeks. After the temporary crown has been removed, the permanent crown is placed on the tooth to make certain the fit is precise. At this point, our dentists can make any necessary last-minute adjustments. Once he confirms that it provides a comfortable fit, he will attach it to your tooth using dental cement.
"Dr. Polidori and his staff at Colorado Premier Dental are truly the best! I needed some major reconstruction/cosmetic work done that I was quite apprehensive about and received many different opinions from various dentists in the Denver area. Ultimately, I choose to go with Dr. Polidori because of his vast experience, knowledge of dental heath, and his ability to accommodate his approach to address my personal concerns. It's been over a year since Dr. Polidori performed a complicated 8 crown placement and I couldn't be more happy with the results! I'm so excited to have my smile back and it's such a relief to have my dental health in order!" Erin Beaumont, 5-Star Review

The Dr did a phenomenal job as well as the staff with being a new patient. They don't pressure and will give treatment plans to whatever they feel is necessary.
